Sodium / Lithium Heparin – Blood Collection Phlebotube
Sodium / Lithium Heparin tubes are used to collect, transport, and process blood specimens for testing plasma or whole blood in the clinical laboratory.
Heparin acts by activating antithrombin, thereby blocking the coagulation cascade and preventing clot formation, which allows the production of plasma for laboratory analysis.
The tube is composed of plastic material containing sodium or lithium heparin as an anticoagulant.
